Using the weeks before IMAT
This is our suggested plan, not an official one.
- Before you apply: confirm eligibility, gather documents and decide whether you will use a CAT, GMAT or GRE score or sit IMAT — see how the entry routes compare
- Up to 15 November: submit the application and keep your confirmation
- After you submit, up to 22 November: timed practice on CAT-pattern sections — verbal ability and reading comprehension, data interpretation and logical reasoning, and quantitative ability
- From 29 November: prepare for the personal interview — your work story, why an MBA now and why this programme; our statement of purpose guide helps you structure it
- 8 to 21 December: review the offer letter, choose a fee plan and pay by the deadline
Two fee plans, side by side
| Payment | Annual plan | Module-wise plan |
|---|---|---|
| Seat-booking deposit (before the deadline) | ₹1,00,000 | ₹1,00,000 |
| Before the programme begins | ₹7,22,000 | ₹3,78,000 |
| Before Module III | — | ₹3,94,000 |
| Before the 2nd year | ₹6,78,000 | ₹3,64,000 |
| Before Module VII | — | ₹3,64,000 |
| Stated total, inclusive of all taxes | ₹15,00,000 | ₹16,00,000 |
| Paid by the time classes start (deposit + first instalment) | ₹8,22,000 | ₹4,78,000 |
Which suits you? The annual plan costs ₹1 lakh less overall but front-loads the outlay: about ₹8.22 lakh before classes start. The module-wise plan costs ₹1 lakh more but cuts the pre-start payment to about ₹4.78 lakh — roughly ₹3.44 lakh less — and spreads the rest over four instalments. If cash flow is the constraint, the extra ₹1 lakh is the price of flexibility.
What the fee does not cover
- Campus immersions: the page states that travel, lodging and boarding for the two one-week immersions are borne by participants. Attendance is mandatory, so plan leave for January 2028 and January 2029
- Application fee: ₹2,500 is separate from the programme fee
- Global courses: the course structure says participants take two global courses of repute and notes '3 credits × 3'. The page does not make clear how these are counted or whether their cost is included, so ask before you budget
Rhythm and structure
- Classes run on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays; timings are not published on the page
- Eight modules and 31 courses — 16 core and 15 electives — plus a group project and a capstone
- Assessment mixes individual and group work, assignments, presentations and case studies, and a written examination
Eligibility reminder
- A bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% for SC, ST and PwD candidates)
- At least three years of relevant work experience after graduation — the page still cites 31 December 2025 as the cut-off, so confirm how it applies to your batch
- A CAT, GMAT or GRE score not older than five years, or IMAT, IIM Mumbai's own test based on the CAT pattern
If you were considering IIM Nagpur's Blended MBA
Both are two-year blended MBAs for working professionals, but the entry route differs: IIM Mumbai asks for CAT, GMAT, GRE or IMAT, while IIM Nagpur uses its own IIMNAT. Our IIM Mumbai vs IIM Nagpur comparison sets out fee, format and fit side by side. Check IIM Nagpur's current intake on its programme page.
More: cost, time and ROI framework, specialisations explained, a fit check for working professionals and how the programme works week to week.
